Welcome to the

Voice and Swallow Mechanics Lab

"My background as a speech-language pathologist has allowed me to experience first-hand the challenges of completing objective assessments in the fast-paced medical setting. Because of these experiences, I decided to pursue a research career dedicated toward facilitating access to clinical tools and improving the efficiency of diagnosis and treatment. My three-pronged approach combines my knowledge and study of physiological systems, my clinical insight, and my engineering skill-set. The overarching goal of my laboratory is to improve our understanding of voice and swallow physiology through development and validation of quantifiable methods, with the aim to directly translate our innovative approaches to clinical care."
